i love weddings. it’s truly a joy when two people who’ve found true love take the vow before God & man to cherish one another for the rest of their lives. am quite embarassed to admit this but i get all dewey-eyed and marshmallowy inside at weddings. 😉 in a cynical and jaded world where infidelity is rife and people fall out of love as easily as they fall in lust, i believe true love exists. i speak from no experience but i’m sure marriage is hard work and those who say their vows do not do it frivolously. as such, on the occassions where a couple finds true love and decide to make the bold commitment, we rightly rejoice and share in their joy.
i was invited to a high school friend’s wedding last saturday and it was such a lovely event. her dad, our family doctor for some years, beamed with pride at his beautiful daughter and the new son-in-law he was entrusting his precious princess to. my dear friend was positively radiant, glowing with happiness at the arms of her beloved. though we’d lost touch over the years, my happiness for her was undiminished. it gives me such joy to see that she’s found someone to spend the rest of her life with and i wish her the very best as she embarks on a new journey together with her husband. 🙂
